LI Storm 4 - LI Mustangs 0 -- Brian Pavone (Lynbrook) started and pitched two scoreless innings for the Storm. Mike McCormick added three more scoreless frames, and Andrew Ris kept the Mustangs off the board for the final two innings.
Storm Academy 8 - NY Thunder 3 -- Storm first baseman Thomas Lentino (Holy Cross) went two for four with three RBIs and a home run. John Gallo (St. Anthony’s) pitched a complete game, giving up three runs, striking out seven and walking just two.
The Thunder’s second baseman Dominick Confredo (Hauppauge) hit a home run and walked once. Will Lutjen (Miller Place) added a home run of his own.
Connecticut Blue Jays 15U 7 - LI Braves Gold 0 -- Blue Jays third baseman Cam Fennell (Greenwich) went one for two, scoring twice and knocking in one. Right fielder Will Bruschi (Wilton) was two for three, with a walk, and RBI, and a stolen base.
Braves catcher Anthony Bencivenga (Holy Trinity) got two hits in two at bats. Left fielder Joe Baltera (Commack) was also two for two, with a stolen base that got him to third.
North Shore Cougars 10 - LI Storm 3 -- Chris Brewer (Bayport / Blue Point) pitched a complete game for the Cougars, striking out seven while walking only one and allowing one earned run. Shortstop Tyler Piccolo (Rocky Point) hit a double and a sacrifice fly, knocking in three runs.
The Storm’s Danny Karp (Holy Trinity) had a single and a double, knocking in two. Matt Murphy (JFK Bellmore) went one for three.
Connecticut Blue Jays 16U 8 - LI Whalers Navy 3 -- Shortstop Chuck Ameer (Weston) had three hits including a home run, scoring four for the Blue Jays. Jamie Brown (St. Josephs - Trumbull) pitched six innings, allowing one earned run.
The Whalers’ left fielder Brian McLaughlin (St. John the Baptist) went two for three at the plate. Cory Blankmeyer (St. Dominic) added to the offense while having a stellar day defensively at catcher.
LI Whalers 16 Blue 9 - NY Thunder 1 -- Catcher Chris Volberg went three for four, hitting a two run home run for the Whalers. Lenny Martinez threw a complete game, striking out eight while walking just one.
The Thunder’s Will Lutjen went one for three with an RBI.
LI Braves Gold 5 - Storm Academy 1 -- Phillip Dennis threw six and ? innings of the Braves no hitter, striking out seven while walking only three. for the Braves. He also went two for three at the plate, driving in one. Richie Renkl had three RBIs.
Lambert Chu threw a complete game for the Storm, allowing only two earned runs.
North Shore Cougars 11 - Connecticut Blue Jays 16U 2 -- Cody McPartland (Miller Place) threw a complete game for the Cougars, using just 78 pitches. He allowed three hits and two walks while striking out eight Blue Jays batters.
Connecticut Blue Jays 15U 10 - LI Whalers Blue 1 -- Centerfielder Sal Frosceno (Derby) went two for three for the Blue Jays with a double, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Pitcher Alex Pinkus (Fairfield Prep) pitched six innings, allowing only four hits and one run, while fanning seven Whalers. Jordan Price (Wilton) was four for four, scoring twice while driving in three runs.
