Cardinals 3 - Red Birds 2
The Cardinal's shut-down pitching paved the way to their 3-2 victory over the Red Birds. Sam Gaitan (Pace) and Joseph Broderick (Queens) dominated Red Bird hitters all night, surrendering just two runs with nine strikeouts over nine innings of work. Broderick came in for the Cardinals in the sixth inning, threw four scoreless innings, and picked up the win. Robert Vani's bat in the middle of the order was key for the Cardinals. Vani (Adelphi) hit the ball hard all night, picking up two hits. Although Anthony Eichorn's team lost, he pitched very well. Eichorn (Molloy) put in work for the Red Birds, throwing seven innings, while allowing two runs.
Winning Pitcher - Joseph Broderick (3-0)
Losing Pitcher - Kevin Sustad (0-2)
